Parenting while watching movies feels like a minefield. Bill's challenge is how to introduce his 10-year-old daughter Claire, at her own request, to more complex entertainment than Saturday morning cartoons. So, they are going on an adventure to expand her cinematic horizons. Each episode, they'll watch a movie and then have a conversation to analyze what they saw. Two weeks ago we checked out INNERSPACE. Then we took a break to take on the MCU's latest installment, CAPTAIN MARVEL (it was great!). We're back onto Joe Dante with his merciless takedown of the aimless paranoia of suburban life: THE 'BURBS! Claire reveals to me for the first time the history of police activity on our block and what to do in case of Finger Guns at school. You never can tell where a suburban door is going to take you!
